Maria Dulce Soares is Partner at Abreu Advogados since 2007 and works primarily on tax advisory and litigation.
She has extensive experience in conducting litigation proceedings and cases, particularly in matters related to corporate income tax, tax benefits, EU law violations, special contributions and VAT, advising national and international economic groups.
She is an arbitrator at Administrative Arbitration Centre (CAAD) since 2011 and teaches tax and litigation in advanced training courses.

Advising on several tax litigation proceedings and cases to multinational groups in the context of tax recuperation with held in Portugal in violation of European Union Law in the insurance and energy distribution sectors.

Advising a multinational company on fiscal matters related to corporate income tax, VAT and municipal property tax in the context of one of the largest hydroelectric projects carried out in Europe.

Advising a number of international groups on tax litigation related to Stamp Duty in cash pooling agreements.

Advising multinational groups in the food, agriculture and fishing industry, paper and paper pulp industries on tax litigation related to corporate income tax and VAT, specifically, losses calculated in restructuring operations, payment to non-residents, tax benefits, financial expenses and intra-EU transmissions.

Advising family owned groups on a number of tax litigation cases and proceedings in connection with the general anti-abuse clause on corporate restructuring operations.

Advising multinational companies in the food petroleum product distribution sectors in connection with special contribution, specifically with CESE (Energy Sector Extraordinary Contribution) and Taxa de Segurança Alimentar Mais (food safety tax).
