André Modesto Pinheiro is an associated partner and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2019 having particular intervention in Financial Law.

He has been developing his activity mainly within the areas of Banking and Finance and Venture Capital, with special focus in acquisition finance, real estate finance, investment in start-ups and the preparation of investment rounds, private equity and venture capital.

André worked in the Banking and Finance department of a London based law firm, as an International Associate, and gained significant expertise in the funds finance area.

André started his professional career at a Spanish law firm in Madrid.

Since 2023, André is a member of the Executive Committee of AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers.

  • Advising on international financing operations, real estate financing and refinancing operations and acquisition financing

  • Advising financial institutions on various fund finance operations

  • Advising on investment rounds for several of Portugal's most innovative startups and scaleups, both on the investors' and founders' sides

  • Advising on three sale processes launched by the Bank of Portugal for the sale of a Portuguese bank, which was subject to an innovative resolution measure applied by the Bank of Portugal

  • Assistance in the acquisition process of the largest Portuguese investment bank

  • Participated in several of the largest capital markets transactions carried out in the Portuguese market including: (i) combination of the business of a Portuguese and a Brazilian telecom operators; (ii) public tender offer for the acquisition of the largest telecom listed company in Portugal

  • Advising an international banking syndicate on the financing of the acquisition of Portugal's largest motorway concessionaire
